Menstrual Health Hygiene (MHH) Week

At Tai Tanzania, we are committed to promoting menstrual health hygiene using the Oky period tracking app. This technology enables females to access accurate information on period safety. During Innovation Week at JNICC in Dar es Salaam, we set up a booth and engaged with over 300 individuals, encouraging them to download the Oky period tracking app. It was an honor to introduce and demonstrate the app to Dr. Carolyne Nombo, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education in Tanzania.

Our next step was in Arusha, where Menstrual Health Hygiene (MHH) celebrations were held. We successfully interacted with a considerable number of stakeholders, parents, and students about Oky Tanzania. It was a remarkable week during which we not only created beneficial connections for Oky but also increased awareness through a radio interview with Mega FM and we were privileged to play our "Hedhi Salama" song for the first time, creating an incredible vibe and memory. We spoke with Glami and ABC Impact about the Binti Shupavu initiative. This initiative has the potential to help Tai Tanzania reach over 9,000 girls, providing greater access to menstrual health education and opportunities to engage kids through the Bike2School clubs. Additionally, due to our successful partnership with Linkspace Arusha, five partners plan to roll out the Oky app in the northern area. The Wana Funzi festival was another milestone during MHH week, where we were encouraged by teachers' readiness to install the desktop version of Oky for their students.

Through MHH week, we confidently agree that by empowering young women and improving matters concerning period safety, we are dedicated to using technology to ensure that every girl has access to accurate information on menstrual health hygiene and can make a difference in society.
