In Tanzania, approximately 30% of children still lack access to quality education due to life issues. Despite the government's initiative to eliminate school fees for public schools, many students continue to struggle with basic educational needs. The absence of essential school supplies such as textbooks, notebooks, stationery, and uniforms, as well as the lack of proper meals, poses a major challenge. Additionally, some students endure long and exhausting walks of up to 10 kilometers daily to and from school, further impacting their ability to focus and perform well academically.

Recognizing this challenge, Tai through our education scholarship program at Mongola Secondary School in Morogoro we support students from vulnerable backgrounds. This month, Team Tai visited the school to provide much needed assistance, reinforcing our commitment to ensuring that every child has the resources they need to succeed in their education.

Through the generous support of the Kipaji Foundation, the program currently benefits 30 students both boys and girls by providing them with essential school materials. Every year, from Form 1 to Form 4, these students receive textbooks covering different subjects in the syllabus, stationery, school uniforms, and shoes. Additionally, their school meals are fully covered, ensuring that they remain nourished and active throughout their studies.

For over six years now, the Kipaji Foundation in partnership with Tai, has been instrumental in advancing Sustainable Development Goal 4, which focuses on quality education. The impact of this scholarship program has been truly transformed students lives. Many students have excelled academically, with notable achievements that inspire others.

One outstanding example is Careen Adam Nzalalila, who joined the program in Form 1 and, through hard work and the support provided, she completed her Form 4 with flying colors, earning Division 2 in her final NECTA exams last year. Her success is a testament to the life changing impact of this initiative.

Teachers at Mongola Secondary School have witnessed firsthand the program's positive influence on their students. They have expressed their deep gratitude and hope that it can reach even more students in need. Mr. Said Hatib, the headmaster of Mongola Secondary School, shared his appreciation, saying:

"Your support, Tai, has been incredibly helpful. It has motivated students to stay focused and perform well in their studies. Their parents are also grateful for the assistance. The bookkeeping textbooks you provided have been particularly beneficial students were thrilled to receive them, and those who scored Division 2 are now pursuing further studies in bookkeeping and commerce."

Tai remains committed to expanding this initiative and reaching more students who face barriers to education. With continued support from partners like the Kipaji Foundation and the dedication of educators, we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to learn, thrive, and build a brighter future.
