Celebrating Youth Empowerment: A Memorable Screening of "A Wrinkle in Time"
On August 21st, Tai, in partnership with the US Embassy, hosted an impactful event at Mlimani City Century Cinemax to mark International Youth Day. The highlight of the day was a special screening of A Wrinkle in Time, a film that beautifully illustrates the journey of Meg Murry as she discovers her own strength and courage.
The event attracted over 200 participants from the Msimamo Youth Center, Changombe Secondary School, local universities, and representatives from the US Embassy. Attendees enjoyed not only the film but also an engaging panel discussion featuring three dynamic youth leaders: Diana Harry, Gizzel Mbaga, and Ally Seif Ramadani.
The panel discussion covered vital topics such as technology, employability, and leadership. Diana Harry delivered a powerful message, stating, "Freedom without discipline is insanity." This insightful comment set the stage for a conversation about the importance of self-awareness and goal-setting in effective leadership.
The panelists highlighted the significance of mentorship and the remarkable potential of youth to drive innovation and progress. Their discussion offered valuable perspectives on how young people can leverage their talents to make a meaningful impact in their communities and beyond.
The event not only celebrated the potential of youth but also provided a platform for inspiring dialogue. It was a testament to the ability of young people to lead, innovate, and contribute positively to society, leaving a lasting impression on all who participated.
